Hello City of San Bernardino: This is, again, a seemingly unnecessary meeting. As when active community member and native of this city, I have seen our city council fight and tattle like children in the past four years alone. It was painful to watch the division between our city council and our mayor trying so hard to bring you all together at the 2025 State of the City meeting. Plus, San bernardino has been through many lawsuits and bankruptcies. For decades, our city council has been rumored to be corrupt and the actions seem to support this. Our city's setbacks do not fall solely on one person; it falls on all of you. It is clear that you all do not like each other and do not work together. You do not like each other and obvious to everyone: our residents, our youth, our future Partners, everyone. It is embarrassing! The community does not trust you. How can we trust you with any more decision-making? Personally, I do not think it is a good idea for the city council to be in charge of this decision seeing how they cannot seem to agree on much that's really important to our community. You will do not need any more deciding power when it is difficult for you all to make decisions now, with the power you do have. Instead of spending our money on decisions that do not need to be made, I would remind it being used for team building exercises or something. In conclusion, this meeting and the council's actions seems very suspicious. I do not think the city council should have any more deciding power, especially them voting who they think should be our mayor. Please, for the love of the community, come together. Work together on real issue, help us build our home up. Stop fighting and get it together. Cordially, Heather E. Zappia
