Good evening Council.
This special meeting is being used to rush through a proposal that affects voter rights in San
Bernardino. That alone should concern every person in this room.
Changes to how we elect our Mayor should be discussed openly, with full notice and real
public input, not pushed through at the last minute.
San Bernardino has a long history of civil-rights organizing. Black and Brown communities
here have fought for voting rights, fair representation, and dignity for generations. That legacy
demands transparency, not shortcuts.
Our community deserves transparency, time, and respect. Anything less erodes trust and
weakens democracy.
