Public Comment – Special Meeting Good evening Mayor Tran and Members of the Council, My name is Jose Mendoza. I regret that I am unable to be present this evening, as I am currently in Indio speaking at Disabled American Veterans Chapter 78. I felt it was important, however, to ensure my voice was still part of the public record. I do not believe that what is currently being proposed reflects the will of the people. I strongly believe in democracy and in the fundamental right of our community to vote for the leaders they choose. While I understand and respect the discussion surrounding term limits, any change of this magnitude should involve the voters directly. I would also like to express my sincere support for Mayor Tran. I believe the work she is doing for our city goes above and beyond. I see the progress being made, and I believe in her leadership and vision. Though I do not know everything that goes on behind closed doors. She is making a meaningful difference for San Bernardino, including for our veteran community, and that work does not go unnoticed. As a Disabled American Veteran , I feel a responsibility to speak not only for myself, but for the veterans who have served this city and this country. We value fairness, transparency, and the democratic process. Thank you for the opportunity to submit this public comment and for your continued service to our community. Respectfully, Jose Mendoza Disabled American Veterans Commander: Jose Louie Mendoza DAV Ch 12 San Bernardino Ca. (909) 843-8207
