Good evening Mayor and City Council Members.
My name is Diamond Hall, and I am a parent of Akoma Unity Center.
I want to show support of Akoma Unity Center and its lease renewal. Akoma has had a
meaningful impact on my scholar and my household by providing accessible programs like Digital
Arts, 3D Printing, Coding, Robotics, Hydroponics, Aquaponics, Teen Mental Health. Akoma
provides my scholar with a safe learning space, building their confidence, expanding their minds
and expanding their voices through civic engagement.
Akoma is more than a program—it is a safe space where our scholars feel seen, supported, and
empowered. It provides consistency, care, and opportunity that families like mine depend on.
Akoma Unity Center has also strengthened my scholars social skills.
I strongly urge you to support the continuation of Akoma Unity Center’s lease so that it can
continue serving scholars and strengthening our community.
