I write to express my support for advancing arts and culture as a core economic development strategy in the City of San Bernardino. As you receive the presentation on California's Creative Economy Strategic Plan, I encourage the City to align with this statewide vision by adopting the San Bernardino Arts Collaborative Arts & Culture Agenda as a guiding framework for local action. This Agenda reflects a community-informed roadmap that connects arts, culture, and historic preservation to workforce development, small business growth, and neighborhood revitalization. I support the designation of the "E" Street Corridor as an official cultural district to anchor place-based investment in infrastructure, safety, housing, and economic development tied to the creative economy. To move this work forward, I encourage sustained investment in arts and culture, including the proposed $3 million annual strategy to support programming, public art, and the systems that strengthen our local creative ecosystem. These actions position San Bernardino as a leader in aligning local priorities with statewide economic strategy while strengthening quality of life for residents and supporting local businesses.
