I am shocked that our Council would consider no limits on campaign contributions. Certainly, the
State’s limit of $4700 per donor should be enough. Leaving the limit open as is proposed opens the
door for major donors to contribute enormous amounts, which leads to “pay for play.” We have
already seen that at work in some of our current elected officials. Please do not make it easy for
those who want favors from elected officials!
